About Workday Learning

With Workday Learning, staff and managers have much more access, as well as responsibility.

There will also be other functionality for Instructors, Content Creators and Nurses.

Read below for a brief overview of what each group can do in Workday Learning, as well as for links to specific 'how-to' guides.

Core Training for Workday Learning Implementation Team

Review all the training for Employees, Managers, Instructors and Content Creators (below).

Access to Workday Community

Most of the training on this page requires access to Workday Community.  If you don't have an account, you can 'Request Account' on the login page.

Additional Training for Workday Learning Implementation Team:
  • Workday Learning Main Resource Page
  • Learning Roadmap - 10 min video
  • Learning Compliance - Learning administrators can now add advanced expiration rules on a course for different groups of learners, including resetting the expiry date. Reminders will notify learners at intervals up to and after the expiration date.  11 min video.
  • Learning & Drive - Workday Learning enables you to select shared or uploaded media files from Drive, unifying the user experience across both functionalities.  6 min video.
  • Peer Learning Series - 30 min video total - GREAT RESOURCE

For Employees
Employees can take assigned digital training, enroll in a course assigned to them, or sign up for optional trainings.
Note:  Hourly employees that enroll in a non-required training will require their manager's approval in Workday.

For Managers
Managers have new tools to help manage their employee's training in Workday.  Managers can assign training, approve an employee's registration (if an hourly employee), get notified when their employee's required training will be expired, and more.

For Instructors

With Workday Learning, instructors can easily view their course schedule, manage waitlists, mark attendance, and enter grades and scores for learners. This allows instructors to focus their attention on delivering an engaging lesson.

In this Next Level Feature Adoption presentation, review how to set someone up as a Learning Instructor and the tools that are available to instructors in Workday Learning.

For Content Creators

Peer learning is the informal sharing of knowledge that happens every day at work. If you think about where you learn and who you learn from, it’s not often in a classroom. It’s at your desk, on the way to lunch, and in meetings.

It’s estimated that 70% of learning happens in this way, and organizations that implement a structured peer learning program find that they are able to:

  • Leverage employee knowledge to drive innovation.
  • Allow employees to learn from each other regardless of physical location.
  • Increase productivity by capturing tribal knowledge and making it easy to find.
  • Prevent the loss of knowledge when an employee leaves the organization.

Video Interactions are a great tool for adding interactivity to any video. They can help engage your audience by turning a passive viewing experience into an active learning experience. Compared to Packaged Content, interactive videos are faster to author and better supported on tablets and smartphones.

In this Next Level Feature Adoption presentation, you will see how easy it is to create video interactions. We’ll discuss use-cases and demo creating, editing, and publishing videos.
