The way we get to this insight is through easy-to-run reports.

Below is a list of common Workday Reports that can help you, by role.


How To Run a Report In Workday
  1. Type in the Report name in the Workday Search box
  2. Select the criteria (i.e. by supervisory organization, date range, etc.)

Workday Standard Reports All All Full list of Workday reports  
Absence Eligibility Audit Absence Manager, Absence Partner Shows you what leave and time off types a worker is eligible for.  Useful when you get leave requests that are BEYOND simple PTO requests.  Useful as Absence Partner works to support both Manager and Employee. As Needed
All Worker Time Off w Cost Center (RHA) Absence Unit Leadership, Managers, HR Partner, Absence Partner View all the approved, pending, and denied time off requests for your workers to track the history and status of all time off requests. Leave one or both dates blank to perform an open-ended search. The report lists worker time off for one or more organizations where the worker's Time Off Date falls on or within the specified date range. Additional details include time off type, dates entered and approved, date off, and hours. Enables you to perform related actions to manage time off and leave for individual workers.

Weekly - Monday
Time Off Balances and Liability by Organization Absence Unit Leadership Permission is coming to ensure Administrators/Directors can run this report.  Shows the balance of selected leave type, and expense liability for your supervisory organization. As Needed
Workers on Leave Absence Unit Leadership View all workers on leave within selected organizations, by leave type, and over a specified date range. Leave one or both dates blank to perform an open-ended search. Monthly
Compensation Changes Report Compensation Compensation Partner (COO, VP, Admin or Dir) View compensation changes made for employees as a result of compensation events. Search for results based on a date range, organizations, and/or workflow states, such as in-progress, successfully completed, and rescinded. As Needed
Employee Detail (RHA) HCM Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager, HR Partner Not live yet.  Shows employee detail.  More info to come. As Needed
New Hire Turnover HCM Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager This report shows new hire turnover information for the selected supervisory organization/s and specified maximum months of service. Restricted by viewing own supervisory organization. Monthly
Outstanding Actions for My Direct Reports HCM Manager This report shows you any outstanding actions that your direct reports need to address.  Examples include:  employee revises a PTO request that a Manager sent back, Onboarding tasks, etc. Monthly
Turnover Summary HCM Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager View a summary of employee attrition in an organization for a given time period or date range. Details include starting and ending headcount, total terminations, total turnover percentage, and a breakdown of voluntary am involuntary turnover. As Needed
Turnover Summary HCM Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager, HR Partner View a summary of employee attrition in an organization for a given time period or date range. Details include starting and ending headcount, total terminations, total turnover percentage, and a breakdown of voluntary and involuntary turnover Monthly
New Hire Summary HCM/Recruiting/Onboarding Unit Leader Shows new hires for a given date range As Needed
Time Type & Scheduled Weekly Hour Audit (RHA) HCM/Time HR Partner Not live yet.  Report will show active workers that have not worked any hours since hire date. Monthly
Onboarding Status Summary Onboarding Unit Leadership Returns recently hired workers and a summary of their onboarding status.  Run before each New Employee Orientation (NEO) Bi-Weekly
Job Requisition Aging Recruiting Executive, Unit Leadership View the number of job requisitions that have been open for under 30 days, 30 - 59 days, 60 - 89 days, and 90+ days based on the difference between the current date and recruiting start date. Monthly
Job Requisition Aging Recruiting Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager, HR Partner View the number of job requisitions that have been open for under 30 days, 30 - 59 days, 60 - 89 days, and 90+ days based on the difference between the current date and recruiting start date. Monthly
Open Position Summary Recruiting Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager, HR Partner View a staffing summary for a specific supervisory organization that uses position management as the staffing model. Summary includes the number of current workers, pending offers, future hires, etc.  Run by supervisory org. Monthly
Review Time Time Tracking Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager, Timekeeper This informational report shows you direct reports (and further down your supervisory organization).  This shows you submitted hours that need to be approved by the manager.  Shows Overtime. bi-weekly on Mondays after pay period ends
Time Block Calculated Detail Time Tracking Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager, Timekeeper A manager run by cost center or supervisory organization.  Show's employee-specific time clock details, including: time blocks entered with date/time/hours, mileage, and the Time Cost Center the hours/miles were charged to.  Sort by cost center to see any mis-allocated time from worker outside your unit. After employee Timesheets are locked each Monday afternoons. 
TT Audit – Workers with Time Entered but not Submitted  Time Tracking Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager, Timekeeper Shows time entered by worker, but not submitted to manager for approval.  Good tool to understand which employees are not submitting time, so training, coaching or corrective action can take place. Bi-weekly
TT Audit – Workers with Time Submitted but not Approved  Time Tracking Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager, Timekeeper Shows time that was submitted by worker, but not approved by the manager.  Good audit tool for unit leadership, so you know who to train/coach/or give corrective action to. Bi-weekly
Unmatched Time Clock Events Time Tracking Executive, Unit Leadership, Manager, Timekeeper View Workers across organizations that have unmatched time clock events for a selected date range; additionally, it includes the position, manager, and supervisory organization for any check-in time clock events.  Can see situations where an employee missed a punch. Weekly - Monday
