Almost everyone will need to do something new when filing a tax return this year.  Review the guide, “Your 2014 Federal Income Taxes and Health Care Coverage” to understand how health care will affect your own and  employees income tax filing for 2014.

Individuals who received coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace will be mailed a new form, 1095 A, by early February.  Form 1095 A will be used to file individuals 2015 income taxes.  Review, 3 Tips About Marketplace Coverage & Your Taxes

Free help with completing your taxes is available through free tax prep software through www.irs.gov/freefile or from volunteer tax preparers in your community through www.irs.gov/vita .  Find a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) near you, http://irs.treasury.gov/freetaxprep/   

While we cannot offer tax advice, our goal is to help employees understand how health care coverage impacts their income taxes and present free resources to help employees with their 2014 income taxes.  You can find the attached and other 2014 IRS forms on the forms drive in the Human Resources/Benefits/Tax and Health Care Law folder
