Dave Raber Retires From RHA

October 12, 2018

A Farewell Message - By Dave Raber

Before I share my thoughts on RHA, I want to express my sincere sympathy to all that have been affected in Eastern North Carolina by Hurricane Florence.  This storm caused severe devastation to our region and has impacted the lives of thousands.  While the storm has passed, it will be a long time until the area returns to normal.  North Carolinians are strong and resilient and the region will come back, but your thoughts and prayers are still important to the people affected by Hurricane Florence.

I have been with RHA for almost 11 years.  During that time I had the opportunity to work with many of you on the IDD side when I was the Internal Auditor, within RHA Behavioral Health where I spent most of my time, and of course with our Financial Services Office in Atlanta, and our HR/Corporate Office in Asheville.

I have witnessed tremendous growth during my time with RHA.  This, I believe, is primarily due to the quality of the people who work for RHA and the quality of the services they provide.  This has not gone unnoticed in the communities we operate in and the consumers we serve.

I feel fortunate that RHA leadership had the confidence in my abilities as demonstrated by the assignments I was asked to do.  I believe I have always been honest, trustworthy, dependable, and treated others the way I would like to be treated.

I wish I could mention the names of all of the people I have had the privilege to work with, but I’m afraid the list would be so long and I would still forget to include everyone that needs to be recognized.  I would especially like to thank the Directors, Business Managers, and the Administrative personnel in the East Region that I have worked closely with the last four years.  Finally, a big thank you to all of the staff at the 17th Street and Covil offices in Wilmington for your support and professionalism you shared with me during my time with RHA.

Leaving RHA is going to be bittersweet for me.  I wish all of you the very best and continued success in the future.
